Level II Orton-Gillingham (Group L8)

This rigorous Orton-Gillingham training course emphasizes instruction of struggling readers at all grade levels and is critical for teachers working with student with dyslexia and learning disabilities. See below for REQUIRED prerequisite. 

Course content is designed for: K-12 grade general education, special education, interventionists who have taken EITHER the Phonics FirstĀ® course for K-5th grade or 6th-12th grade.

Attendees must wait at least three months after taking either Phonics First course before taking this course.

Miss. Const. Art. 4, Section 66 Eligible attendees for this training includes teachers, counselors, and administrators who are employed by a school district or MDE. Unless specifically noted otherwise, external contractors or vendors may not attend. This event is being funded with state and/or federal funds and is being provided for employees of school districts, employees of the Mississippi Department of Education and Department contractors. Miss. Const. Art. 4, Section 66 prohibits governing authorities from making donations. According to the Mississippi Attorney General, once the federal funds are turned over to the state, the rules for the expenditure of state funds apply. Based on the Mississippi law, this event is not being provided for third party vendors or external providers.
