Teacher Effectiveness: Supporting Educator Effectiveness through Observation and Feedback (Leaders)
THIS COURSE IS GEARED SPECIFICALLY TOWARDS PRINCIPALS.The research supports that well-executed classroom observations do identify effective teachers and teaching practices. What are you doing to ensure that students are prepared to focus on what they should know and be able to do to improve their learning? Engaging educators in conversations about their practice, as well as providing support and feedback builds the capacity to impact the quality of teaching.
During the professional development, participants will:
- Identify strategies that will address time management challenges associated with the implementation of the teacher observation process..
- Utilize instructional leadership strategies to guide conversations with educators to develop a deeper understanding of the teaching standards leading to improved student learning.
- Investigate the shift from “teacher quality” to quality of teaching by focusing on student learning during the observation process.
- Explore the factors that affect inter-rater agreement and the impact on educator evaluation results.
