One in five youth ages 12-18 are living with a mental health condition. For teachers, this means that in a class of 25, five students are impacted. This course provides teachers, administrators, support staff, and safety officers with the knowledge and core skills for helping a young person who is experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge in getting the help they need when they need it. Completion of the course results in Youth Mental Health First Aid certification that is valid for 3 years. The course course will consist of a 2 hour webinar and a 4.5 hour Zoom meeting.
*The 2 hour webinar that must be completed before the zoom meeting. Participants will receive an email with webinar information one week prior to the meeting in order to have time to complete the webinar before the meeting.
