Trauma-Informed Instruction: What Teachers Need to Know

Trauma-Informed Instruction: What Teachers Need to Know (Online)

We know many of our students have experienced trauma in their lives.  Those traumatic experiences, along with the fear associated with COVID-19 over the past few months, have created an urgent need for teachers to understand and utilize trauma-informed instructional strategies as a daily part of their professional practice.  In this course, participants will learn how trauma impacts a person’s development and education as well as several trauma-informed instructional strategies to meet the needs of all learners.

Online Workshop:

This course includes three (3) hours of required pre-work and seven (7) hours of synchronous online training from 12:00 PM until 3:30 PM over two (2) days.  Upon successful completion, participants can apply for 1 CEU or 5 SEMIs at no additional cost.

Technology requirement:   This training will be held via Zoom, and all participants will be required to join the Zoom meeting either with a computer (desktop or laptop) or with a mobile device.  The camera and microphone must be engaged for each participant, as active engagement is embedded throughout the workshop.
