Mississippi Science Matters Professional Development

The Mississippi Department of Education’s Office of Secondary Education in partnership with WestEd Making Sense of Science team is pleased to offer the Mississippi Science Matters professional development for Mississippi K-12 science shareholders.  This transformative instructional training program will allow shareholders to experience what scientists and engineers do by engaging with the Science and Engineering Practices, learn how to make sense of core science and engineering concepts and ideas through the lenses of the Crosscutting Concepts, and facilitate pathways for students to increase their science literacy while exploring and developing sense of relevant phenomena.  This professional development is scheduled to take place the week of Jul 11, 2022 to Jul 15, 2022 in Jackson, MS.  Interested participants are responsible for travel and boarding if needed.
