Mississippi Educator & Administrator Professional Growth System (PGS) -For Teachers
The Mississippi Educator Professional Growth System (PGS) is designed to improve student achievement by providing teachers and administrators with high-quality feedback to inform continuous improvement. The PGS also provides critical information to the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE), local districts, and schools to inform professional learning for educators. The goals of the PGS training are as follows:
- Introduce teachers, administrator supervisors, and administrators to the components of the PGS.
- Prepare teachers and administrators to use the Teacher Growth Rubric to produce effective classroom observations coupled with high-quality feedback.
- Prepare administrator supervisors to use the Administrator Growth Rubric to produce unbiased, rigorous assessments of leadership practices.
- Prepare administrators and administrator supervisors to provide clear, specific, actionable, and timely feedback to improve teacher and leader practices.
