Teaching Students with Autism

Description:

The focus of this session is to enable participants to identify the characteristics of Autism and to provide strategies to help students succeed in the inclusive classroom.

Objectives:

• Participants will describe the characteristics of students with Autism.
• Participants will be able to describe strategies, including communication, social, sensory, and instruction, to help students with Autism succeed in the school environment.
• Participants will be able to describe classroom management, including structure, organization, and behavior support for students with Autism.
