The Mississippi Department of Education – Office of Child Nutrition (OCN) is preparing to host the first statewide, Mississippi Farm to School Conference in September 2026. This training is designed for School Food Service Administrators (SFSAs), teachers, students, CACFP organizations, and farmers.
The purpose of the Mississippi Farm to School Conference is to bring together key partners—schools, farmers, educators, child nutrition professionals, and community organizations—to strengthen and expand farm-to-school efforts across the state.
Important Conference Information
- Hotel Accommodations: The Mississippi Department of Education – Office of Child Nutrition will not have a block of hotel rooms reserved for the 2026 MDE Farm to School Annual Conference. Participants are responsible for making their own lodging arrangements.
- Meals & Refreshments: Meals will not be provided as part of the conference. Participants should plan accordingly for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Beverages and light snacks will be provided during scheduled breaks at the conference.
- USDA Professional Standards Training Hours: Participants who fully participate in the conference may receive up to eight (8) hours of USDA Professional Standards training hours. Training hours will be awarded based on full participation and completion of the conference requirements.
