MS Literacy Association: Literacy is Sweet (Presenters Only)

The Mississippi Literacy Association (MLA) in partnership with the Mississippi Department of Education: Office of Elementary Education and Reading, Division of Literacy cordially invite you to the 53rd Annual Mississippi Literacy Association Conference: Literacy is Sweet! This conference will focus on promoting literacy instruction for students in kindergarten through 8th grade. It will take place December 4-6, 2024, at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi. 

As we continue the momentum of improving literacy and learning outcomes for ALL students, sessions will focus on Early Literacy (kindergarten through grade 3), Adolescent Literacy (grades 4 through 8), and other aspects of teaching and learning (English Language Learners, Multi-Tiered System of Supports, Classroom Management, SPED, etc.). 
 
Keynote speakers include:

  • Eddie Brown, Teacher/Comedian
  • Elsa Hagan, Ed.D., President of Valley Speech Language and Learning Center
  • Kareem Weaver, Co-Founder and Executive Director of FULCRUM
  • Kim Bearden, Co-Founder, Executive Director and Language Arts Teacher at Ron Clark Academy 
  • Tracy Stock, Workplace Culture Expert and Author

Access to reserve blocked rooms will close when all blocked rooms are taken or Nov. 1, whichever comes first.
 
***Participants must attend all three days in order to received CEUs, SEMIs, or OSLs
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to transfer your registration to a colleague, our refund policy is as follows:

  • Cancel between August 1- September 1, 2024 and receive a refund of your registration amount less 10% cancellation fee.
  • Cancel between September 2-November 26, 2024 and receive a 50% refund of your registration amount.
  • Cancel between on or after December 2nd cancellation refund will not be given.

Please remember that transferring your registration does not automatically transfer your hotel arrangements. You are responsible for your own hotel reservation.
